Panel upgrades in Palmdale
Replacing the original panels in Palmdale's 1980s and 1990s tracts, sized for long air-conditioning seasons, chargers and heat pumps, with the city permit and SCE's request coordinated whether the bill says EPIC or SCE.
Infinity Electrical is a licensed electrical contractor for Palmdale homes, mobile homes, shops and commercial buildings, doing panel upgrades, EV chargers, air-conditioning circuits, repairs and rewiring. Work inside city limits is permitted by the City of Palmdale's Building and Safety Division, and the lines and meter belong to Southern California Edison even when the electricity on the bill comes from EPIC, the city's own power program; free estimates are available for eligible electrical services.

Level 2 chargers for Antelope Valley commuters, starting with the checks the city's express permit checklist asks for, so you know before work starts whether the charger fits on the current panel.

Breakers that trip during extreme-heat days, scorched A/C disconnects and receptacles, and circuits overloaded in houses shared by more people than they were built for.

Rewiring and circuit replacement for Palmdale's smaller group of 1950s and 1960s houses, where ungrounded circuits and patched-together panels are more likely.

LED fixtures and ceiling fans for homes, plus exterior and parking-area lighting for shops and offices along Palmdale's commercial corridors.

Dedicated circuits for added window units, mini-splits and kitchen appliances, GFCI protection for garages, laundry rooms and outdoor outlets, and 240-volt circuits for dryers and ranges.

Repairs, added circuits and panel work for residents and owners in Palmdale's mobile home parks, with the inspecting agency confirmed first, since park electrical systems usually follow state rules.

Three-phase circuits, equipment feeders, lighting and tenant improvements for shops, offices and light-industrial buildings, including those in the aerospace area around Plant 42.
Also: subpanels, dedicated circuits, 240-volt outlets for dryers and ranges, exterior and security lighting, hard-wired smoke alarms, and small repairs of every kind.

Call (844) 430-7681Request an estimatePalmdale grew in a hurry: its general plan profile counts 12,227 residents in 1980 and 68,842 by 1990, as new, affordable single-family tracts turned it into a commuter town for the Los Angeles basin. That growth spurt still defines the electrical work. Most houses here were wired in one burst, so whole streets reach the same point together: original panels that are now three or four decades old, garages being asked to power a car charger, and a cooling system that carries the house through the summer.
Summer is the hard part. Los Angeles County's 2025 cooling-center list included the Palmdale City Library and the senior-only Legacy Commons, places residents can go when the desert heat turns dangerous. When a heat wave keeps the air conditioner running from late morning until after dark, a loose lug, an undersized circuit or a tired breaker is often what gives out first. Infinity Electrical Inc. Palmdale is mostly detached houses: the state Department of Finance counted 37,273 single-family detached homes out of 47,353 housing units in January 2021, about 79 percent, according to the city's 2021–2029 housing element, and about 65 percent of households owned their home in 2019.
Palmdale (ZIP codes 93550, 93551 and 93552) runs its own Building and Safety Division, and its permit FAQ lists electrical upgrades among the work that needs a permit. Applications and inspection requests go through the city's online Accela Citizens Portal, and the city's Building and Safety FAQ has the current rules. We coordinate the permit and inspection as part of the job.
A shorter route for some home chargers. For a charger at an existing one- or two-family house, the city publishes an Express Permit Checklist: when every item on it can be answered yes, formal plan review may be avoided and the permit may be issued through a streamlined process. Among other things, the checklist asks for a stamped load calculation, a lockable disconnect within sight of the charger and open breaker spaces in the panel. We look at those points during the estimate, so you know early whether the existing panel can carry the charger.
Who supplies the power. Energy for Palmdale's Independent Choice, known as EPIC, is the city's locally managed, not-for-profit power provider. The CPUC's 2022 status report on new community choice programs listed the City of Palmdale's launch for October 2022, with SCE as the utility. On the joint rate comparison published by SCE and EPIC, EPIC Power is the standard product and EPIC Power 100 is the opt-up. Edison still delivers the power and charges for delivery, so a panel change or meter spot on an existing house is requested through SCE's project planning portal no matter which product shows on the bill, and we coordinate that step with the permit.
Solar and batteries. Palmdale sends rooftop solar on an existing single-family house or duplex with no battery through SolarAPP+, while systems that include battery storage go through Accela. EPIC also promotes a Power Choice program that puts solar panels and batteries on homes with the cost billed on the electric bill. We don't install solar; when a house already has panels or a battery, our panel, charger or circuit work is planned around that equipment.
The permits and utilities guide explains the whole picture for the three counties we serve.
Lancaster, Palmdale's northern neighbor, is a separate city with its own permit counter and its own power program, Lancaster Energy. Desert View Highlands, a small residential area surrounded by Palmdale, is unincorporated county land, as are nearby communities such as Lake Los Angeles, Littlerock, Pearblossom, Sun Village, Acton and Leona Valley; the general plan also identifies county islands inside the city, including a mobile home park north of Avenue Q. Permits for all of these come from Los Angeles County Public Works, through its Antelope Valley Building and Safety Office in Lancaster, and SCE serves them, but EPIC is a City of Palmdale program. Santa Clarita, over the hill to the southwest, is another SCE city with its own building department.

No phone quotes and no guessing. A written estimate after we've seen the job, then permitted, inspected work.
Call or send the form. A photo of the panel or the problem helps us come prepared.
We come to your home or business and look at the panel, wiring or site.
Scope, price and timeline in writing before you decide anything.
We pull the permit, coordinate your utility when needed, and finish with the inspection.
Los Angeles County Public Works issues it, because Desert View Highlands is an unincorporated community even though Palmdale surrounds it. The same is true for Lake Los Angeles, Littlerock, Acton and Leona Valley, and for a few county islands inside the city. We check the parcel's jurisdiction before the estimate so the application goes to the right office.
SCE, because EPIC buys the electricity while Southern California Edison owns the service wires and the meter and charges for delivery. A panel upgrade on an existing house is requested through SCE's project planning portal, and switching panels doesn't change whether you are on EPIC Power, EPIC Power 100 or SCE's own generation. More on the process is on our panel upgrades page.
It may, for a one- or two-family house where every item on the city's Express Permit Checklist can be marked yes; in that case the city says formal plan review may be avoided. The checklist covers points such as the load calculation, the disconnect, the wire run and free breaker spaces, and a design that falls short may need standard plan review instead. If your panel is 100 amps, our article on chargers on a 100-amp panel explains the options, and the EV charger page covers the installation.
Yes, we can do the panel, charger and circuit work, but the solar and battery equipment itself stays with the company that installed it, because Infinity Electrical does not install solar. EPIC describes Power Choice as solar panels and battery storage paid for through the electric bill, so tell us at the estimate if your house has it or is signed up, and we plan the new load and breaker space around that equipment.
No, a breaker that trips repeatedly under air-conditioning load is warning you about an overloaded circuit, a weak breaker or a loose connection. Leave it off if it trips again right away, don't keep resetting it and don't open the panel. Need urgent electrical assistance? Call Infinity Electrical to check technician availability. Our breaker troubleshooting article lists the usual causes, and repairs are on the electrical repair page.
Yes, for residents and for park owners, on repairs, added circuits and panel work. Palmdale has more than 2,000 mobile homes and its own space-rent rules, but the electrical systems in parks generally follow the state's mobilehome regulations, so the inspection may not come from the city. See our mobile home electrical page.
