Lighting that fits the room

Good lighting changes how a space feels and how it works. We plan layouts, run the circuits and install the fixtures, inside and out, for homes and businesses.

What we install

  • Recessed and slim LED ceiling lights, including retrofits into existing ceilings.
  • Under-cabinet and accent lighting for kitchens and built-ins.
  • Pendants, chandeliers and ceiling fans, with proper support for heavy fixtures.
  • Dimmers, timers, occupancy sensors and smart switches matched to the fixtures.
  • Exterior and security lighting: entries, floods, motion sensors, dusk-to-dawn controls.
  • Low-voltage landscape lighting.
  • LED retrofits that cut energy use and replace tired fluorescent fixtures.
  • Commercial lighting: offices, retail, warehouses and parking areas.

Planning and code

Lighting work in California follows Title 24, the state energy code, which covers the efficiency of fixtures and the controls used in new and remodeled spaces. We design to it from the start so the inspection is a formality. New fixture locations and circuits are permitted work; a like-for-like fixture swap usually isn't, and we'll tell you which is which.

What changes the price

  • Number of fixtures and whether circuits exist where you want them.
  • Ceiling and wall access for running new wiring.
  • Fixture choices and controls.
  • Exterior runs, trenching and transformers for landscape systems.

Questions people ask

Can you add recessed lights to an existing ceiling?

Yes. Slim LED fixtures are made for exactly that, and we plan the layout so the room is lit evenly rather than in spots.

Do I need a permit for new lighting?

New circuits and new fixture locations are generally permitted work. Swapping a fixture in the same spot usually isn't. We tell you which applies.

What is Title 24?

California's energy code. It sets rules for the efficiency of lighting and the controls used in new and remodeled work. We install to it so your inspection passes the first time.

Can you install dimmers and smart switches?

Yes, and we match them to the fixtures so LEDs don't flicker or buzz.

Do you do landscape and security lighting?

Yes, including low-voltage landscape systems, motion-sensor floods and dusk-to-dawn controls.
