Most of Agoura Hills was built after the Ventura Freeway came through in the late 1960s: Hillrise, Liberty Canyon and Lake Lindero first, the rest subdivided through the 1980s. About three-quarters of homes are owner-occupied.
Two things make the work different from the Valley. The city sits in the Santa Monica Mountains, where the 2018 Woolsey Fire burned through and SCE can shut off power in Santa Ana winds. And Old Agoura, under a design and equestrian overlay, carries horses, barns and outbuildings on feeders of their own. We look at the job on site and put the price in writing before any work.

Most Agoura Hills houses are forty to sixty years old, sit on larger lots than the Valley, and were built before anyone counted on an EV charger, a spa and whole-house air conditioning.
Agoura Hills is an independent city (ZIP code 91301) at the western edge of Los Angeles County. Its north side borders Oak Park, which is unincorporated Ventura County with a different permit office, and the City of Los Angeles agencies, LADBS and LADWP, play no part here.
Permits come from the City of Agoura Hills Planning and Community Development Department, Building and Safety Division, on Ladyface Court. In Old Agoura, the Old Agoura Design and Equestrian Overlay adds design review for work that changes the look of a property, and horse facilities have setback rules of their own, so we lay out barn and corral circuits with the overlay in mind.
Power comes from Southern California Edison, which approves and schedules any change to the service; chargers, repairs and lighting on the existing service don't involve SCE. Agoura Hills is a Clean Power Alliance member, so CPA may appear on your bill, but SCE is who we deal with on a service change.
The permits and utilities guide explains the whole picture for the three counties we serve.
Oak Park, just north, is unincorporated Ventura County, so its permits come from the Ventura County Resource Management Agency's Building and Safety Division. Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Malibu are separate cities with their own permit offices; Westlake Village contracts its building permits to Los Angeles County; and Thousand Oaks, across the county line, issues its own through its Building Division. All of them are Southern California Edison territory.

No phone quotes and no guessing. A written estimate after we've seen the job, then permitted, inspected work.
Call or send the form. A photo of the panel or the problem helps us come prepared.
We come to your home or business and look at the panel, wiring or site.
Scope, price and timeline in writing before you decide anything.
We pull the permit, coordinate your utility when needed, and finish with the inspection.
Inside the house, no. The Old Agoura Design and Equestrian Overlay adds design review for work that changes how a property looks, and horse facilities have their own setbacks, so a new barn, corral lighting or a sub-panel on an outbuilding has to fit where the overlay allows it. We lay out the feeder, the sub-panel and the fixtures with those rules in mind, use wet- and dust-rated equipment where the animals are, and pull the city permit.
Usually the charger's location, how the circuit gets there, and the equipment details. California law limits how far an association can refuse a charger, but it can still review where it goes, especially on a wall visible from the street. We give you a simple drawing and the specs to submit, and pull the city permit once the association signs off.
No. Oak Park is unincorporated Ventura County, so permits come from the County's Resource Management Agency Building and Safety Division rather than the City of Agoura Hills. Power is SCE in both, so only the permit office changes, and we confirm it from the parcel before quoting.
